Folsom Street Fair- A New Experience
Yesterday (Sunday September 24th) I went to Berkeley to see one of Farsi blogers friends. She is a really nice and smart woman and I had a great time there.
We drank a beer in Berkeley and then we went to San Francisco to attend in a street fair called Folsom Street Fair.
It was my first time to be in a gay fair. However I always wanted to be in a gay parade, but never had the chance.
It was not a gay parade yesterday, but it was like that. In Folsom Street, there are lots of leader shops that have specials customs for gays. Basically this fair is their annual party. Or as it comes in their official website “Folsom Street Events is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving the adult San Francisco alternative communities. Through the production of street fairs, Folsom Street Events promotes diversity within the leather/alternative lifestyle, highlighting entertainment, service and vendors. Proceeds from the production of the fairs are distributed to organizations which promote a sense of community, diversity, cooperation, health and human services.”
I saw lots of naked (by naked I mean naked) men and women, adult toys and customs, and experience different culture.
For me, it was like being in a theater. I couldn’t believe that I saw those entire scenes by my eyes. I am not against gays and accept them as they are ( it is as much stupid as saying I accept a human because they are human), but as I told it was just a new environment that I ‘ve never experienced before.
You can see more pictures here. I took more than 100 pictures, but I need to resize them to up load here.
I have to say that, being in the real place it is hell different to see pictures.
I have to write about Iraninan's opinion ( moslty) about gays too.

Life Experiences- Last part
Nightmares and cold sores were started. In one side, I didn’t want to give up, not only because of my dad, but also because I wanted to finish this task. I could not remember any unfinished duties in my whole life. In the other hand, the scores got worse and worse. I didn’t work on that time and my parents paid for my school and other expenses. I did not want cheat on them too. I knew the value of every single coin they spend for me and I didn’t want make them disappointed. I remember one night I wrote a long letter for them. I explained all my feeling, the reason I chose civil engineering, and my weakness. I wrote about my thoughts to make them happy and make their dreams true, and about my scores and all those freaking Fs. I mentioned how much I was sorry to spend their money, make them disappointed and became a failure. I wrote about my interest in social science and working with people.
The night after that letter, my parents came to my room. I can say that conversation adjust my whole view to life. My dad told me: “You live for yourself and your dream not anybody else. Nothing is better for parents to see their kids are happy and achieve their own dreams. Remember just follow your heart and see what do you want to do and what are you capable to do. Your satisfaction should be your priority. So never scarifies your wishes for anyone, no matter how much you love them. We didn’t bring you to this world to live for us. You live for yourself and you have to know the value of that”. Then my mom talked about how much they are proud of me anyway and both of them asked me to follow my dreams and never think about anyone else.
Life Experiences - 2
When my father got fired form his job, he had to start as an entry level construction worker with minimum wages. He had to work as a labor for engineers who used to work with them in a same room. However he never told anything, I used to think that his only dream is seeing his first child as an engineer with a yellow helmet in an incomplete building, working with other engineers, and arranging the workers. I saw all his effort to bring money for my school and sending me to supplementary classes to be a good student. The only thing he wanted was having someone to be proud, a symbol of the life he used to have.
I was a brilliant student in high school, specifically in math and physics. I also loved literature and social studies, but when time came to choose the major in university I picked civil engineering. I scarified my dream of studying social science to make my dad’s untold dream true. I had passed the test and first semester started. Engineering is not all about math and physics. It is more about imagination and the power of drawing. When it comes to art, I am one of the untalented students in the world. I can not draw any 3-D object without having a model. Even with a model, my picture is more like a cartoon than a bridge or Skelton of a dome. It was third semester when our group advisor asked me in his office and noticed me about my rows of Fs.
Experiences For Lifetime
However Islamic Revolution in Iran happened two years before I was born, but it has formed lots of changes in my life. The 1979’s revolution’s first impression was shifting our family’s social class and life condition. The radical Islamic groups took my grandparents properties, burned their houses and send them out of their home town. They were guilty because they were not Moslem. Both families had to start all over again in a new city with nothing. My dad got fired form his job as an electrician and working for women became against the norm, so my mother had to stay at home. The subjects of this changes still effects on my life. Even though, after our immigration, which was another product of that revolution, I have experience more and more free life from radical religious groups, but I still consider The 1979’s Revolution as fundamental cause for other changes in my life like changing my major in school which ended up with finding myself and true life pathway.
(To be continued)
Poor Dogs!
We normally go my parent’s house in weekend. Both of us are so busy during the weekdays and weekend is the only time we have to see them. However, my mom always makes us food and brings us.
When we went there in Saturday, we found one of their neighbors’ kept two big dogs in his truck (Passenger’s seat) and dogs were barking and made noise. Those were big dogs and I felt really bad for them.
This scene repeated on Sunday. My mom told that they had been in truck all night and the family didn’t sleep because of their nonstop barking.
I didn’t care about barking. It doesn’t bother me, but I felt bad for those poor dogs. My sister’s boy friend, who is an animal lover, and I decided to call animal cops. When I called, we found that we are not the first one who called and the got some claims for this address.
I saw animal cops but I don’t know what happen after that. I wanna know why people keep animals when they don’t have space or equipment for them. Poor dogs!
'SO, TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT OURSELVES'
They say job-hunting success is all about who you know. But how much you know about prospective employers plays a crucial role, too, a new survey confirms. Forty-seven percent of executives polled said that having little or no knowledge of the company is the most common mistake job seekers make during interviews.
The national survey includes responses from 150 senior executives -- including those from human resources, finance and marketing departments -- with the nation's 1,000 largest companies. It was conducted by an independent research firm and developed by Accountemps, the world's first and largest specialized staffing service for temporary accounting, finance and bookkeeping professionals.
Accountemps offers the following tips for researching potential employers:
* Find information at your fingertips. By visiting the company's website, you can locate a wealth of information, such as the firm's mission and values, what products and services it provides, recent press releases and more. If it's a publicly traded company, call the investor relations department to request an annual report.
* Research the industry. In addition to learning about the company, research the industry in which it competes to gain a better understanding of the market and specific issues and trends that may affect the organization.
* Check your network. Ask your colleagues, friends and others for information about your prospective employer. Your contacts may have worked for or with the organization and could provide insight that may prove valuable during a job interview.
